1. Work/Programming
No change so far with my work situation. I’m employed through the end of the year.. and still up in the air as to what will happen next year.
Adopted project is zipping along. I may even finish it early. It’s actually been kind of fun. Like playing a game with schitzphrentic rules where I’m not allowed to make the rules less.. insane. “Can I get it to do xyz or will it explode in my face when I push the red button? Stay tuned next week.”
I also have a meeting with the CTO next week. I’m a bit anxious. I really don’t know him well enough to gauge him yet.
2. Home
Made only minor progress on eliminating invisible piles. I have a feeling this will be a big feature of early next week. My parents will be in twon on around the 19th.. and my brother and sister-in-law on the 21st. I need to make my house at least minimally presentable while they’re here.
Honestly I think the biggest thing I need to do is to get rid of an ironing board (I sort of accidentally ended up with two of them) and sew ties onto my camping feather blanket and duvet. I think with just those two changes (and a swift cleaning of the bathrooms) my house will be back to minimally presentable.
Anyone want an ironing board? Free.
3. Health
Meeting with OB/GYN this last week went well. Everything is progressing on schedule and so far there’s nothing really concerning. I am experiencing pregnancy related sciatic (or possibly pelvic nerve impingement). It makes my right thigh numb.. which is annoying but according to the doctor, not terribly concerning.
Fearghus posted a video of our ultrasound. This is not THE ultrasound.. you know the big one where most people find out the sex of the baby.. but so far I think this is our fourth.. but this is the first one we’ve been sane enough to remember to vidoetape it. I’ll see if I can get Fearghus to zoom in on the screen (or maybe get a copy from the hospital) of the 19 week ultrasound.
4. SCA/Projects
Two weeks until the knighting. I still feel on track for the projects listed below.
Project list:
– Black tunic is nearly done. I’ll turn that over to Edith on Tuesday. At this point it’s wearable and is just waiting for bling.
– White tunic is started. That is my hand project for the rest of this week and next week. I expect that to be done very soon. After all the back-and-forth about which pattern to use I ended up using the new pattern. It takes less fabric.. and I was 2″ shy on the piece of fabric I’d set aside for the tunic. Rather than buying new fabric Fearghus said it was ok to use the new pattern. This fabric is thicker than the black fabric. I need to be careful when I’m sewing it to make sure that my decorative stitches show through on both sides of the fabric.
– Trim is still.. trimming. It’s about 1-1.5 repeats away from being done. I hope to finish that tonight. I’m going to go ahead and finish out the thread that’s on the loom just to make sure.

We ended up not attending A&S Tourney this last weekend. My doctor advised I was to avoid anything over 102F and the forecast put A&S at 111F. Someone who did attend said it was actually 107F. This does not mean that I hate the autocrat.. or even whoever put a summer camping event in the Central Valley.. it just means that I made a choice for my health instead of attending what would have otherwise been a fun event.
Instead I slept in. Gloriously decadent sleeping in. Did quite a bit of sewing, took the dogs to the dog park (where the dogs decided we were nuts and laid down in the shade instead of running around) and then, when the afternoon got too hot, we went and saw the new Star Trek movie (it was ok.. I’m not thrilled.. but it was better than baking at 95F at the house).
In all it was a very nice relaxing weekend.
