1. Work/Programming
My pet project went to production yesterday. I finally got all the right permissions and got it live in the afternoon. So far nothing seems to have blown up.
I’m heads down working on the next version. Currently it has 3 features and I’ve finished work on one of them. Luckily the one that’s finished is the hard one. I hope to finish the other two between today and early next week.
2. Home
I’ve started a Pennsic packing list.. and designated a place to stack things for Pennsic. Other than that the house is unchanged.
Oh. in slightly different news. Padmapper had a really spiff program up where they’d map apartment/house for rent listings from Craigslist using the Google map API. Craigslist sent them a cease and desist letter. It turns out the Craigslist will sell you a licence to show their listings if you have a phone app.. but they don’t have anything if you have a web app (Lame). Anyway it turns out that another service has picked up the ball and run with it. Live Lovely will show listings on a map. This should be very useful when we get back from Pennsic and start looking for a new place to rent.
3. Health
Post CrazyStupidDiet is going well. I’m avoiding starch and sugar but not obsessing about it. As of this morning I am exactly at my Last Injection Weight.
Well ok.. that’s kind of a prevarication. I’m at exactly my LIW.. but that with bouncing up a HUGE amount due to birthday dinner + camping at West An Tir War. Since I’ve gotten back I’ve been been doing well and gotten back on track. ATM the weight seems to be coming off easily. We’ll see how it goes this weekend.
4. SCA/Projects
When we were setting up the tent at West An Tir war we broke a stake loop. This is highly ironic because “replace stake loops on tent” have been near the top of my to-do list for about six months. So now it’s on the “must get done before Pennsic” list.
I went out and tried to replace the loop with my current sewing machine. I have sewn 4 pavilions together with that machine.. but sadly the tension on it has gone all wonky and I don’t have time between now and Pennsic to fix the tension on the machine (which probably needs a trip to the shop) and fix the stake loops.
So I’ve gone with Plan B.. which is to throw myself on the mercies of Facebook and beg abjectly to find someone who has an industrial sewing machine available in the next week that I can use to fix the stake loops. Luckily someone in town has one and I’ve setup to go and use it on Wednesday.
5.
The best part about not being on the CrazyStupidDiet anymore (aside from the not being light headed when I try to lift heavy things) is that I get to have breakfast again. I <3 breakfast I even <3 breakfast protein shakes. I know I know.. when I first started doing them I scoffed.. I mean come on I'm a child of the 80s.. I know what slimfast is.. I know that it's just plain silly to think that you could lose weight while drinking a shake for breakfast.. but it's not really about that.. I just really dislike going without breakfast.. and having a morning shake that has the taste and consistency of chocolate pudding.. it just makes me happy.
This morning's shake:
1 Scoop protein powder
1 Tbsp fiber (I found the fiber keeps me from getting hungry)
1/2 cup Chobani Greek Yogurt
1/4 cup whole milk
1/4 cup natural bliss coffee creamer
1 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
I still think it's a little bit too sweet. I may cut the creamer in half and replace that with more milk. Regardless.. yeah.. chocolate pudding for breakfast.
Also of note.. it's Friday the 13th.. just reminding.
