Work/Programming
The code review for my pet project finally came in so I’m working on implementing those changes. I expect to have that done by the end of today and hopefully we can -finally- go into QA next week.

I’ve started work on the design doc for the next version.. new requirements keep coming in. They want their cake.. and to be able to eat it too. *rolleyes*

2. Home
I’ve started looking for rentals in the Santa Rosa area. The plan is to move some time after Pennsic. The rental houses here look pretty decent.. I just need to make sure we have enough money to afford the initial rent + deposit. Especially hard with trying to afford Pennsic at the same time. Whatever.. we’ll get there.

We’re still in two storage units.. in fact, the new storage place called to say that they have a bigger unit available. We’re currently in a 7’x10′ and they have a 10’x10′ available.. so sometime before next week we’re going to relocate to the bigger unit.. and then we may be able to empty out the old unit. I just want it to be done.

3. Health
This is now the end of the second week of being on the CrazyStupidDiet. I’ve lost a total of 17.1 lbs. My pants are super baggy and I’m going to drop down to a smaller size (which I have in my closet) on Monday. Aside from the “no breakfast” thing the diet has been relatively simple. Since it has such cut-and-dried rules it’s easy to not cheat.. well add to that.. I give myself an injection every morning.. and later in the day when confronted with a cookie I have to ask myself if it’s worth it to eat the cookie.. that would mean that injecting myself was a waste of time.. and I hate for something that momentous (sticking myself with a needle) to be useless.. so it kind of enforces the “don’t eat that” mentality. If I cheat.. then all this fuss is for nothing.. and that feels just plain silly.

Add to that.. the “it’s only three weeks.. I can do anything for three weeks” thing is still nice. Well.. and the positive reinforcement that comes from seeing the pounds just drop off. Yeah.. this is working. I think the big deal is going to be maintaining the loss during the “in between” periods of the diet.

This round of HCG will end before West An Tir War.. and the “no starch no sugar” portion of the diet will end before Pennsic. This gives me some leeway at Pennsic.. but I don’t want to go nuts. The plan is to do a Round Two after Pennsic.

4. SCA/Projects
Work is skipping along on my new Crimson Kirtle. I’ve updated the blog entry and added some new progress pictures. I’m working on the eyelets now. I think I have a total of 50 to do.. I’m about half way done. I’m still hopeful that I’ll have this dress wearable by June Crown.

Last weekend at the sewing retreat at Mari’s I worked on a total of two things. I added a waist band to a pair of pants (totally simple) and I put together a Gaston Phebus coat (not so simple) for Brocc of linen and a really lovely diamond twill wool. I’m nearly done with the coat. I brought it home to finish the hem and add the buttons. Then I’ll turn it over for someone else to add button holes. I think my machine could do button holes.. but I’d need to find the right foot.. and I think that foot got packed into some random box in the move.. and I haven’t managed to find it yet. It’s on my future list of things to do.

I still have many projects on my Pennsic list. Braies for us both and tunics for Feargus are at the top of the list after my red kirtle is done. I received the linen for Fearghus’ tunics.. and it’s lovely light weight linen. I can hardly wait to make those.

5.
This month is my birthday. It’s a “Significant Decade” birthday. I told Fearghus that maybe I’ll turn 27 instead. I will not appreciate “over the hill” cards.. or a dirt cake.. or any of a myriad of “old” things. Hell.. I told Fearghus I was thinking about dying my hair red. I wonder if this is a midlife crisis. I kind of expected a “crisis” to be more significant than just dying my hair.

Future:
June 15-17 A&S Tournament
June 22-24 June Crown
June 30 FREE WEEKEND!!
July 3-8 West An Tir War
July 14 Cynaguan Summer Investiture
July 21 FREE WEEKEND!!
July 28 ANOTHER FREE WEEKEND!!!
