Both Saturday and Sunday I was up by 7AM and worked on things in the morning(cleaning the kitchen, emptying the freezer, cleaning out cupboards). Since I’m not a morning person I’m a bit puzzled about what’s going on here. It’s possible (but don’t quote me on this) that this is the fabled “energized” that I’m supposed to get from eating clean. It’s also equally possible that I just had a bunch of things I was eager to get working on. We’ll see if this trend continues.

Weekend eating was for shit. I’m clipping along at a good rate during the week and then BAM I hit the weekend and stall out and start eating practically everything. I need to get this figured out. Also need to make sure I have good-for-you easy grab food around the house.

I will say I was secretly pleased.. when we had lunch on Sunday at a mexican restaurant. When I got the plate I easily identified it as “way too much food”. I take that to mean I’m on the right path. Now I just need to make the next step to where I don’t overeat (I made up 3 fajitas when I probably should have had only one or two) the “too much food”.

Breakfasts:
T: Greek Yogurt, blueberries, Good Earth Black Tea with 1 tsp sugar
W: Hard boiled egg, 2 pieces of Potato bread, fresh peach, Good Earth Tea with 1 tsp sugar
Th: Hard boiled egg, 2 pieces of potato bread, 1 tsp butter, fresh peach, Good Earth Chai Tea with 1 tsp sugar (wasn’t hungry at 12)
F: Belgium waffle, Good Earth Chai Tea with 1 tsp sugar (carb crash at 1)
S: French Toast with sugar free syrup, 16 oz 2% milk
S: Oatmeal with Quinoa, honey, dried cranberries and a fresh peach
M: Greek Yogurt with grapenuts and fresh peach

Breakfasts are going well. I think I’ll cut my hard boiled egg days back to one piece of toast. I think that’ll be plenty as long as I also have a bit of fruit with it.

Lunches:
T: Wheat shell pasta with veggies and 1/2 AB Chicken Breast
W: Brussels Sprouts and 1/2 AB Chicken Breast
Th: Wheat shell pasta and 1/2 AB Chicken Breast
F: 1/4-1/2 cup quinoa with tahini (stuffed beyond comprehension)
S: Applebee’s French Onion Soup (salty)
S: Chicken Fajita with black beans (ate too much)
M: 1/2 AB Chicken Breast and Brussels Sprouts

Likewise lunches are going fairly well. I find I”m getting bored of brussel sprouts. I think I need to get those gone and eat other stuff. I’m thinking next week would be a good time for nommy spinach salads with toss-ins.

Afternoon Snacks:
T: Fresh Peach
W: Fresh Peach
Th: None
F: None
S: None
S: None
M: Leftover balsamic cauliflower

I’m only snacking if I’m hungry.. and I’m not always hungry. I guess that’s a good thing.

Dinners:
T: Bean chili with brown rice and milk
W: 2 handfulls of rice snacks (Bad Monica! Bad!)
Th: Mussels in dipping sauce (still tweaking this recipe) (way way way too salty)
F: Steak with Balsamic & Parmesan Roasted Cauliflower
S: Yellow spicy spaghetti sauce with whole wheat noodles and leftover cauliflower
S: None (wasn’t hungry after late lunch)
M: Subway 6″ Turkey sub on flat bread with mustard and avocado (it was too hot to cook), 1/2 cup Ricotta, 1/4 cup dried cranberries and honey (I got hungry later at 9PM. I shouldn’t have had the ricotta though)

Ugh. Yeah.. Not so good on the dinners. I’ve started writing up menus and I hope that will cut down on the “what’s for dinner?” part of my day.

I want to try the mussels in dipping sauce again. I think the idea is good but my first attempt had WAY too much salt in it.

Also the spicy yellow tomato sauce was tasty.. but with hamburger I think I had to cook it too long to get a good tomato sauce. Next time I think I’ll serve it over meat instead of incorporating the meat into the sauce. Regardless, it was very tasty.. and it was the first time I’ve ever made a tomato sauce from fresh tomatoes.

Monday night it was WAY too hot to cook. If I’d had cooked chicken in the house we would have had salad for dinner. But I didn’t have any cooked protein so we got Subway instead. I think I’ll get some Tuna and have that in the cupboard to cover this kind of situation.

This week I: – Lost 3.4 lbs(304.0). – Drank all my water everyday. 66oz/day.
