This morning I read the following:<\/p>\n

“Cheap food \u2013 once again \u2013 has turned properly made food into a luxury… to the point where people don\u2019t even want to address issues of quality.” – A black girl’s guide to weight loss<\/a><\/p>\n

This struck a chord with me and put a finger directly on the thing which has been bugging me the most. The more I read the more heart-sick I am at the state of the food industry in America. But, most distressing, it’s -hard- to get “real food”. <\/p>\n

Think about it. If I said to you “beef which has grazed on grass is healthier for you then beef which has been fed on corn” that’s all well and good. Honestly there are a bunch of articles and sites that can give you facts and figures that boil down to that. So, knowing that pastured beef is better and knowing that I should feed myself on pastured beef.. I’m stuck. I don’t know where to get pastured beef. It’s not easy.. and it’s not cheap. When exactly did “beef as naturally grown” become the exception instead of the rule? Why is it that adulterated beef which is crawling with antibiotics, hormones and ammonia is easier to get than a cow who wandered around in a field and did nothing more than eat grass?<\/p>\n

Honestly.. it’s almost enough to make me want to move back to Montana and raise my own cattle.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
