The mother carefully cut each end off the ham before placing it in the pan. The child asked, \u201cMother, why do you always cut the ends off the ham?\u201d The mother replied, \u201cWell, that\u2019s the way my mother always did it.\u201d<\/p><p>So, the child called her grandmother and asked, \u201cGrandma, why do you always cut the ends off the ham?\u201d The grandmother replied, \u201cbecause that\u2019s the way my mother always did it.\u201d<\/p><p>Finally, the child called her great-grandmother and asked, \u201cGreat-Grandma, why did you always cut the ends off the ham?\u201d<\/p><p>The great-grandmother replied, \u201cBecause the ham was way too big to fit in my small baking pan!!\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p> Sometimes you end up cutting the ends off the ham for no other reason than because you\u2019ve always done it that way.
