Work/Programming
A chat with my boss lead to the conclusion that I was “doing it all wrong” wrt the new project. When he asked “are you ready to run with it?” about the project I thought he meant one thing.. and it turns out he meant another. It wasn’t until late last Friday, when we had a group meeting about the new project and I related that I was having trouble getting the environment setup.. that he asked why I was setting up that environment at all.. because that environment wasn’t going to be necessary until Phase 2 of the project. Then he explained what they expected me to be working on for Phase 1. OHHHHH.. ok.. that puts a different spin on things. Totally much easier than what I’d envisioned.

My old project continues to gnaw on my butt. A tweak here, and enhancement there. It’s not bad.. just hard to prioritize what -must- be done from the plethora of requests for “nice to haves”. I don’t get to work on all their nice-to-haves unless they’re prioritized as more important than my current project.. and so far.. that’s kind of rare. So no matter how nice it would be.. so far it’s just another feature going onto the “someday” list.

2. Home
Surprisingly little progress was made last weekend. I’ll try again this weekend.

I wonder if I should make fewer weekend goals so I know I can accomplish them all.. or continue to make a pie-in-the-sky list of goals and then jsut be ok with only getting about half of the goals done.

Weekend needs doing:
– Finish Hat
– Send gifts to family in Montana
– Move pile of SCA crap out to the trailer.
– Clean kitchen floor
– Sort boxes of sewing tchoskies and remove from front room/hall.
– Start on new fighting tunic for F
– Start on Jean quilt.

3. Health
This morning I finished week two of C25k. Again, I didn’t die. The third run this week was easier than the first two.. but didn’t feel as easy as last week’s day 3. I’m not falling over on it.. it’s just not easy. Well no duh, if it was easy I’d’ve done it years ago. Next week begins week 3.

I’m not seeing as much weight progress this week as I did last week. Mostly I owe that to the fact that I’ve been eating too much for dinner. Last night I made Spicy Oven Fried Chicken and Clean Mac&Cheese. It was very tasty.. and I just ate too much. I’ll need to concentrate on proper eating over the weekend if I want to see -any- loss this week.

4. Projects
I finished sewing the fur onto the hat I’ve been working on. I think I’ll do decorative seams on it this weekend so I can get it in the mail.

Last night Fearghus mentioned that I might want to get started on garb for Pennsic. It’s true.. and I have thought about it.. but at the rate I’m fluctuating sizes I think I’ll be safer to just wear tunics at Pennsic (insert childish wail: “BUT THAT’S SO BORING”). We’ll see how I feel about it in the next few months. August just feels very far away.. even though I know it’s going to rush right up to us shortly.

5.
