Work/Programming
I missed my final milestone for this project and asked for an extension into this week. I -could- have hit the milestone on Friday but I don’t think the code would have been as well tested as I want it to be. That said.. this week is March Madness.. and the Madness is running high this this year. I got an emergency call on Sunday to help fix some site-side issues. Whee.

I work for CBS. CBS hosts March Madness. Our online sites have “brackets” which people check CONSTANTLY to see how they’re doing. This leads to a huge spike in traffic and a lot of internal people running around like their hair is on fire.

Most of my job this week is to speak in a calm voice and assure them that their hair isn’t -actually- on fire.. or that their hair actually looks better this way. Regardless it’s a bit of a frantic week for me.. and so even though I probably only needed 2-3 more days on my project.. I’ll be lucky if I’m done by Friday. Wheeeee.

2. Home
We finally got something out of BofA. Our case is now assigned.. and the paperwork we sent in has expired (because they dragged their damned feet for 6 blessed months) and they need us to re-submit paperwork. I am less than amused. When I called them the operator was confused and couldn’t figure out who our account had actually been assigned to. Yeah.. these people are totally going to get a chance to play with my money again in the future. </sarcasm>

In better news, F’s brother and sister-in-law came to visit us on Saturday and we did a whole tourist-y day in San Francisco. It was a gorgeous, warm day and I had a ton of fun. Extra bonus, we cleaned our house like mad banshees so it wouldn’t be embarrassing when they showed up. The house is extra straightened right now.. in fact the front room has an echo it’s so empty.

I’ve decided to re-locate the “destined to be given away at Ducal” boxes into the shed in the back yard. I’ve also decided that we have too much stuff and I’m going to earmark even more stuff for Ducal in an effort to whittle down our “boxes of extra stuff”.

3. Health
A day punching my tourist card in the city was -not- a good eating day. I ate way too much of tasty stuff. I’m not freaking out about it.. but I know I didn’t make any progress against my goals this weekend. Regardless, the walking on Saturday on Alcatraz felt a lot easier than I remember it from the last time I went there. When you step off the boat you’re greeted with a walk up to the prison thats billed at “the equivalent of walking up 13 stories”. So yeah, I totally got my walk on.. and didn’t feel tired at all. Boo ya.

In other news, I’m repeating week 3 of C25K -again- (I think this will be the 5th week in week 3). This morning was the 12th time I’ve run the week 3 program. The first two runs are feeling easy.. and the last two runs are feeling easier.. but they’re not yet a breeze. I -do- think I’ll move onto week 4 next week. Again, we’ll see how I feel on Friday.

I’m happy to say that my cunning plan to combat the effects of Daylight Savings Time(DST) worked out splendidly.

Components of the plan:
– Wear myself out TOTALLY on Saturday (punching tourist card)
– Eat good filling meal with alcohol on Saturday night (Ethiopian dinner with Tej honey wine accompaniment)(NOM NOM NOM)
– Go to bed EARLY on Saturday night (I was in bed by 8:30pm)
– Sleep in LATE on Sunday morning (it was 11 on my clock when I was woken up by an emergency call from work.. I -think- that was actully 12 on the new DST clock).
– Go to bed early on Sunday night (I was in bed by 10:30 on the DST clock).
– Wake up at “regular” time on Monday morning (My alarm went off at 5:50am on the DST clock and I had -no- problems getting up to do my abs and C25K).
– WIN

4. Projects
I didn’t make any -actual- progress on projects this last week. I -did- find both the pattern for my sleeves (which I need for my new blue dress) and my naalbinding set (which I need for a class at March Crown) but other than that.. the only thing I did was to measure out some trim for F’s new fighting tunic. I -thought- about projects.. but no actual progress.

Oh, wait.. I washed the fabric for the tunic I’m going to do embroidery on. That’s like progress.. right?

5. Crown
F’s going to LA this week to help coach the speech and debate team at his school. I plan to day-trip Crown. Considering the fore casted weather (rain, rain, rain) I’m kind of glad to be day-tripping. I’ve already started gathering my day-trip materials(clothes, chair, mini-cooler, wagon…). Now, just cross your fingers and hope my boots (which I ordered last week) show up in time and fit.

1.
