Go figure. I’m happy as a clam to report more than 4 lbs lost this week. Much happier than reporting a gain.

This week I’m “pulling a hard ten” (See inspiration post). It’s a good challenge. I’m finding that I’m avoiding a lot of off-plan eating just because I don’t want to break my “hard ten” progress. It’s not so much that sticking too it has been hard.. it’s just been giving me that little oomph to not indulge. The added impetus to say no to {whatever it is that’s tempting me} whether it be corndogs or english toffee or a big ole’ glass of milk. And boy, has that been working out. I credit my loss this week totally to “pulling a hard ten”. I’ll think about making this a recurring challenge.

I’m excited that I have quite a few recipes to jot down. I’m still miffed about the way they’re stored on this blog and I still want to find a better way to store them.. but storing them on the blog is better than forgetting them. So I’ll get them transcribed as soon as I have time.

This week I moved onto week 4 of C25K. I spent 6 weeks in week 3 and did it a total of 18 times. I’m glad to be into week 4… but that said.. it’s just about as hard as I expected it to be.

Week 3 was [90 sec run, 90 sec walk, 3 min run, 3 min walk] repeated once.
Week 4 is [3 min run, 90 sec walk, 5 min run, 2.5 min walk] repeated once.

The last two runs are kicking my butt. I persevere. This morning was a “rest” day meaning I wasn’t actually doing C25K. Normally I’d just do 30 minutes of fast walking on my off-days.. but this morning I decided to do a few runs amidst the walking. A few turned out to be one run of 5.5 mins (boo ya) which I did totally unassisted without stopping and another run.. which I wanted to be for another 5 mins.. but actually ended up closer to 2 mins. After that initial run I’m feeling really tired and I start being bothered by my breathing. Regardless, the fact that I ran the full 5 mins this morning is heartening. Maybe I won’t spend as long in week 4 as I spent in week 3.

I can totally understand why most people poop out of C25K in weeks 4 and 5. I won’t be one of them. I will finish this.. even if it takes me all damn year.

Oh also, in weeks 1-3 I was listening to a podcast that had music with an announcer who told you when to run and when to walk. I really enjoyed his music choice. I listened to the same podcaster for week 4 and HATE his music choice and think he chose the WORST songs and made terrible choices of times to transition from one song to another. So I’ve downloaded the app “Runkeeper” on my android and plan to use that for week 4 while listening to a Paul Oakenfold (Trance) album that I have on my phone. I like the beat of my music better and the Oakenfold album is 60+ minutes of uninterrupted music so there’s no weird transitions between songs. We’ll see how I feel about it over the next few weeks.

Breakfasts:
T: 1/4 cup yogurt, 1/4 cup dried cranberries, 1/8 cup grapenuts, multi-vitamin, 1 Tbsp ground flaxseed oil, 1 Tbsp fish oil
W: 1/4 cup yogurt, 1/4 cup dried cranberries, 1/8 cup grapenuts, multi-vitamin, 1 Tbsp ground flaxseed oil, 1 Tbsp fish oil
Th: 1/4 cup yogurt, 1/4 cup dried cranberries, 1/8 cup grapenuts, multi-vitamin, 1 Tbsp ground flaxseed oil, 1 Tbsp fish oil
F: 1/4 cup yogurt, 1/4 cup dried cranberries, 1/8 cup grapenuts, multi-vitamin, 1 Tbsp ground flaxseed oil, 1 Tbsp fish oil
S: scrambled egg on whole grain tortilla
S: None
M: 1/4 cup yogurt, 1/4 cup dried cranberries, 1/8 cup grapenuts, multi-vitamin, 1 Tbsp ground flaxseed oil, 1 Tbsp fish oil

Lunches:
T: Chilli
W: Beef and barley stew
Th: Bowtie pasta with pesto and chicken
F: Lentil Stew
S: Venison Stew
S: Chicken and Wild Rice
M: Bowtie Pasta with pesto and chicken

Afternoon Snacks:
T: Brie and crackers
W: Brie and crackers
Th: Goat cheese and crackers
F:

Dinners:
T: Bowtie pasta with pesto
W: Bowtie pasta with pesto and chicken and a glass of Tej and 4 prunes
Th: Subway: 6″ Chicken breast with avacado, spinach and pickles and 4 prunes
F: Chicken and Wild Rice Soup
S: Venison Stew
S: Jumbo Stuffed Shells with spicy tomato sauce
M: Black Forest Ham and Caramelized Onion Grilled Cheese

This week I: – Lost 4.6 lbs (274.0) – Drank all my water everyday(66oz/day). – Didn’t go to the farmer’s market (It was raining and I had a meeting). – New recipe this week: Jumbo stuffed shells with spicy tomato sauce, Venison Stew, Black Forest Ham and Caramelized Onion Grilled Cheese I still need to: […]

[91

post-742","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-progress
["GET
