Work/Programming
I think in future I’ll be more resistant to having a design dropped on me where they expect me to make the product described in the design. I’m coming down to the wire on my current project and tying up the loose ends.. and it turns out that what they wrote and how I read it are two different things. There are some things in the design that I read a certain way.. which influenced what I created.. but it turns out that I didn’t read it the way they intended it to be read.. so now I have to go back and fiddle a bunch of my code to fit with the “real intention”. Bother. I think it’ll only add a few days.. but still.. Bother.

Next time I’ll see if I can help to write the design instead of inheriting it.

2. Home
Additional paperwork for BofA was printed out and sent to them. So.. back to the waiting. Bastards.

On the plus side, it’s now Friday 3/25 and a major earthquake (the big one predicted to occur between 3/19 and 3/26) has not occurred. Let me tell you.. I’m kinda relieved about that. Now.. if we can make it through all of today and tomorrow we’ll be golden.

3. Health
I read an especially inspirational blogpost about doing a “Hard Ten“. It reminds me of Ab Divas.

The last few weeks I’ve been sort of doing what I’m supposed to be doing and sort of not doing what I’m supposed to be doing and gaining weight (or more specifically, not losing) this is a good challenge to “just stick to it” for 10 days.

So here’s the deal for my “Hard Ten”:
– Ten days long, if you mess up a day you go back to 1/10
– Must eat 100% on “plan” whatever your plan is (not 90% on plan.. or 85% on plan. One Hundred Percent, no sneaking). For me this means eating my packed meals and not having all the little things that call my name (brownies at work, glass of milk at home, restaurant food, extra large portions, etc).
– Must do cardio. For me this is 30 minutes on the treadmill everyday.
– Must do exercise. For me this is Ab Divas. I’m currently at 81/100.

Today is day one/hard ten.

4. Projects
I found a really nice set of videos about the Oslo stitch for Nalbinding. I think I’ll make that my hand project from now until I end up with a decent hat.

I was supposed to meet with someone about Nalbinding at Crown.. but we got together and decided it was too icky that day to contemplate hand projects. We did reschedule it to June.. but I may see if I can get that to happen sooner.

Tomorrow I have the day mostly to myself. I plan to finish up F’s fighter tunic (need to add trim and re-do the sleeves which aren’t narrow enough) and start on his next tunic. I also need to start to work on my Blue German dress. Time flies like an arrow…

Ah crud, I just remembered that I need to make another tunic soon soon soon for HRM of the Mists. Must get to work on that this weekend.

5.
Mark won fighting for his lady Patricia. I’m good friends with both of them and I’ve already agreed to be on their Court 🙂 So I guess I did kind of have a dog in that fight.

Because of F’s Saturday class our SCA participation is curtailed until the end of May. I may end up day-tripping a few events.

Future:
– Sew a dress for my brother’s wedding.
– Sew clothes for Fearghus, Tony and myself for Pennsic

April 9: Mists Coronet (I may day-trip)
April 30: Beltane (I may day-trip)
May 14: Mists/Cyn War (F may day-trip)
May18-25: In Montana for my brother’s wedding
May 28-31: Cynagua Coronet
June 11: Kingdom A&S
June 17-19: June Crown
June 30-July 4: A&W War (CA/OR border)
July 29-August 14: Pennsic War (Pennsylvania)

1.
