Work/Programming
The big huge giant project I’ve been working on for most of the year is going to get done launching next week. Busy busy busy. There’s another big huge giant project looming over me.. but I don’t start on that until Monday. So in the meantime I’m tying up loose ends on the previous big huge giant project and pecking away at another middling project. I know it -sounds- boring.. but it’s actually kind of fun.

I read a book about HTML5 that was actually interesting and entertaining. That’s a rare combo in a highly geeky type book. I highly recommend it (you know.. if you have a burning need to learn about HTML5). I also read the one about CSS and “Responsive Web Design”. They were interesting.. and the responsive one has left me with a lot to think about, but the HTML5 one was the most entertaining.

2. Home
BofA are bastards. I’m doing my best to get unentangled with them. I expect this process will take a while and be fairly painful, but I’ve resolved it’s for the best. No, I don’t want to talk about it.

I had a weird moment the other day when I was taking a picture in the house.. and I realized that our house looks messier to me when I look at it through a camera lens. It’s like my eyes can edit everything out.. until I see it through the camera lens.. then suddenly I see it all. I think this means I need to take more pictures and straighten up the place.

3. Health
Vacations are hard on dieting. Between my vacation to Montana for my brother’s wedding and our little jaunt off to Pennsic I’ve mostly lost any progress I’d made this year in the dieting department. I spent a week being depressed about this (and eating way too much take out food) and then I kicked myself in the ass and got back up on the horse. At this moment I’m down 5 lbs since Jan 1. It’s a modest loss.. and it only took me 10 months to get here (pffaugh). Anyway, I know what I’m supposed to do.. and when I do it, it works. So I just need to do it.

This morning I finished my 49th run of week 5 of C25K. A few weeks ago I was able to run the first full 8 minute interval.. but then the weather went to hell and got all humid and my breathing got all mucked up so I’m back to gimping my way through the 8 minute runs. Regardless, I soldier on. Even when I was moping about being up in weight I still continued to run. This year I have run every week except for the two weeks we were in Montana and the two weeks we were in Pennsylvania. I see that as a bit of a win.

I think I have a cavity. This makes me sad since it means I’d need go to the dentist. I’d rather visit the Doctor or Optomotrist.. or have my eyes poked out with burning metal rods.. I really hate visiting the Dentist. That said.. I think painful teeth will make me more sad.. so I need to just do it. Meh.

4. Projects
Currently my project list has two things at the top. I need to make some new pants for F to attach his armor to.. and I need to make 12th night garb for us.

For some reason the pants intimidate me. I need to just freaking do it.. but I keep procrastinating on it. Meh.

For 12th night.. I know what I’m making for F (Kragelund tunic, rus pants, fancy santa hat) but I have NO idea what to make for me. Meh.

5.
F and I decided that we should have “date night” on Fridays. The plan is to switch off so that I’m in charge of the plan one week.. and he’s in charge of the plan the next week. Tonight is our first and I volunteered to start it off. Tonight he will be driving in to SF to pick me up from work and we’ll be having dinner at Johnny Foley’s. I know.. it’s dinner out.. and that’s not terribly creative.. but I wanted to sort of ease into it. Cross your fingers for us.

Future:
Oct 15: Mists Coronet Daytrip
Oct 16: Northern California Renaissance Faire
Oct 22: James & Addy’s Wedding
Oct 28-30: Cynagua Coronet
Nov 5: Colligium Occidentalis
Nov 12: Cyn/Mists War
Nov 19: Mists Investiture
Nov 24: Thanksgiving with F’s brother
Nov 26: Post-T-Day party at Anna Serra’s (need to check if this is still happening)
Dec 3: Free Weekend!
Dec 10: Boar’s Hunt(F is the head cook)
Dec 17: Free Weekend!
Dec 20-30: In Montana for Christmas
Dec31/Jan 1: New Years.. no plans.
