Work/Programming
Is it bad that I still really like my job? I mean it’s not like I’m saying “No, don’t give me time off for the Holiday”.. but all things considered.. it’s not a bad thing to go back to after the holiday.

My last day of work was 12/20. I won’t be back in the office until 1/3. Not a bad jag off. It’s been very very nice.. but I’m just about ready to go back. I like the projects I’m working on and I’m really looking forward to getting this one finished so I can move on to the next one.

2. Home
Spending time at my parent’s house makes me hate my house more. BofA are still bastards. If nothing else, 2011 has convinced me that banks are evil and conniving and not to be trusted.

Ok.. something good. Um. Yeah, I got nothing. Ok ok.. wait, I got something.. I like that the floors are not carpeted. It make them easier to clean. I like having a washer/dryer in my house it make laundry a lot easier.

I may need to pick a new topic for #2.. cause “Home” just makes me angry.

3. Health
While in Montana visiting my family I visited my mother’s chiropractor. I’ve had lingering pain in my lower back. The chiropractor was able to pop my back and make it feel a bit better.. but it’s still sore. He says that I’m having problems with my SI Joint. Checking with the Internet this looks kind of dire. Teh Intarwebs has no easy fixes (and in fact didn’t even offer suggestions about how to prevent flare ups) and the only thing it mentioned is that losing weight and yoga seems to make it better. So I guess I’ll be looking into that.

Ok, it’s the last day of the year.. and officially I’m down 1.6 lbs for the year. I was down 6 lbs before I left for Christmas.. but I had a very merry Christmas. Ah well. I’m not freaking out or anything. I know what happened. I know why I ended up at almost exactly where I was when I started the year. I know what’s going on. I just need to stop half-assing it and just do it. Oh, and I need to figure out how to go on vacation without gaining 8-10 lbs.

Frankly only gaining 4.4 lbs over Christmas is pretty good. I gained 9 lbs when I went to Montana in May and another 6 lbs when I went to Pennsic in July. Considering the amount of Holiday food, eating out, hot buttered rum and Christmas candy, 4.4 lbs is a freaking triumph. Well ok.. not exactly a triumph.. but you know what I mean.

4. Projects
I’m almost done with F’s Reiterock for 12th night. I need to finish attaching the skirt to the doublet, make the sleeves and make him some pants.

5. Resolutions
It’s that time of year.

Review of Goals for 2011:
* Sew one new thing a month – I missed two months. March and October. Considering there are a few months that ended up with 3-4 projects.. I’m not too unhappy about this. I missed two months.. but that’s because project either completed just before or just after the month mark.
* Read a book a month – Again, I think I missed two months. I’m on the last book of the Song of Fire and Ice series and a few of those have taken slightly longer than a month to complete.
* Join the Saluminati and make at least one Bresola and one preserved sausage. – Whoops. I totally blew this goal. I did manage to acquire all the ingredients.. but I never actually got it put together. I’ll add this to next year’s goals.
* Complete the C25K program – I’m in still in week 5 (2 8s).. or at least I think I am. I didn’t run at all over Christmas.. so we’ll see Monday if I can still do it after the break. This year I missed a total of 6 weeks. Two week for my brother’s wedding, two weeks for Pennsic and one week when I was sick and another week for Christmas. Not bad all thing’s considered. I’ll keep at it this year.
* Pay off credit card debt – I’m working on it. I think this will be where my tax return will go this year.

Goals for 2012:
– Learn to make a good wheat bread that can be used for sandwiches and doesn’t cheat by being mostly white flour.
– Make and can homemade chicken and beef stocks.
– Lose 10 lbs/month.
– Join the Saluminati and make at least one Bresola and one preserved sausage.
– Complete the C25K program
– Pay off credit card debt

Future
Jan 7: 12th Night
Feb 3-5: Grrl Trip to Vegas
Feb 11: Culinary Symposium
March 24: March Crown

1.
