Honestly I was explaining something that was fairly simple to understand once you understood the moving parts (cross-domain cookies). I think this concept will come up in the future.. so I’ll keep this idea in the back of my head.

This week my boss is in town. Normally he’s located in New Jersey.. but a big project is stirring.. and TPTB decided that there should be an in-person meeting of all the people running the big project. ATM I’m not involved with “the big project” but I have a feeling (since the project is expected to run over the next two years) that I may end up involved in it in the future. Well that and I keep getting invited to meetings about “the big project” which seems funny since I’m not involved with it.. but not-as-funny if I think that I might be involved in the future. Right now I’m proposing new features and updates for my pet project. I’m fairly certain that’s going to be my to-do list of the next 3 months.

2. Home
Let’s just say “I hate moving” and leave it at that.

Ok.. that’s too little to say. *sigh* Last Sunday Bob, Flidais, Grimr, and Edith helped us pack up the garage and empty it out. I am so thankful for their help. This week I’ve spent the week packing up boxes. This Saturday and Sunday will be the final push to get moved out. Ask me next week how the move went.

Assuming all goes well we’ll be doing a final dump run on next Thursday and have cleaners come in on Wednesday or Thursday to do the final cleaning in the house. Then it will be done.

Next: the interminable unpacking and organizing of storage. Because we already had a storage unit near the old house we have just been stuffing all of our “storage” stuff into that unit. That’s convenient for the move.. but not convenient after we are settled in Santa Rosa. So I figure that over the few months we’ll get a storage unit in Santa Rosa and move our stuff from the San Pablo unit to the Santa Rosa unit.. and get it organized in a more.. organized manner.

3. Health
Moving is not a good mix with dieting. Last week and over the weekend we ate out A LOT. Add to that.. it is counter productive to try to lose weight by only doing the “loading” portion of the HCG diet. This week I’m focusing on getting that weight gain back in hand. I’m doing pretty good so far.

I’m still on target to re-try HCG on the 28th.

Work sent out an email. If you get “1000 points” by November they’ll take 10% off your health costs in 2013. So ok. Do these things and we’ll (essentially) pay you. FINE.

One of those things is to do a Mayo Clinic assessment. It’s a bunch of health related questions.. that are used to assess your health. Splendid. The automated computer survey has -stunningly- determined that my weight is my main health problem. Well thank God for that.. whatever would I have done if the Mayo Clinic hadn’t come to that absolutely STUNNING conclusion. Bastards. Even better the automated health thingy would like it ever so much if I would adopt a healthy lifestyle and eat healthy food. Because, you know, I never would have thought of that.. and that has worked so stunningly well for the last year and a half.

Bah.

4. SCA/Projects
I finished Bob and Fearghus’ tunics(pictures and info).

Unfortunately with all the kerfuffle about moving.. and fixing Fearghus’ tunic I didn’t finish my dress.. so I was dressed in utterly the wrong era clothing (don’t look at me, I’m hideous). *sigh* regardless, I plan to finish the waisted kirtle for me.. maybe for Beltane. We’ll see. Idaknow.. I may wear my blue German for Beltane instead.. in which case it seems silly to work on a kirtle I won’t be wearing. Think think Think.

At Gaston Phebus Fearghus and I ran the lure coursing. After doing that I’m reminded again that if I want to do lure coursing I need less “fussy” clothes to do it in. The Kentish outfit I wore has way to many froo froo dangly bits which can be snagged on the dogs.. or poke the dogs. I think the waisted kirtle would be much better. So I want to keep that on my project list.

Fynris Lure Coursing

Speaking of Lure Coursing.. That was SO MUCH FUN!! I had almost forgotten how happy the dogs are when they lure course. Happy happy puppies. So with that in mind.. and also in mind the fact that we’ve spent nearly a thousand dollars on the lure coursing equipment.. it seems silly to not do it more. So I’ve contacted the autocrats for West An Tir War and Cynaguan Coronet to see if they’re interested in having lure coursing at those events. So far the War autocrat has responded that they’re interested.. so I’ll have to see if I can scare up helpers to run this. Since Fearghus’ number 1 goal at the War is fighting I can’t count on him being available to help with the lure coursing…

I suppose I could run the course and not run our dogs. Hmm.. that I could do without helpers. Must consider.

Hopefully the coronet autocrat will get back to me. With coronet falling on a 3-day weekend I think it would be great to do the lure coursing on a non-fighting day.

5.
Wedding plans are starting to move along. I contacted Esmeralda and asked her if she could take our pictures for us to use for a “Save the Date” card. We’re going to do this at Beltane (come on.. it’s a gorgeous site). My parents have started work on the changes they want make to the farm before the wedding. It’s starting to be real.

Happy side-effect of moving.. I found 2 cases of Mead that I bottled um.. 8 years ago(?). I think I’ll bring a few bottles to Beltane.. and then save the rest for the wedding.

A few nights ago Fearghus said to me that now that we’ve set a date and gotten a photographer to take the “save the date” photos.. he’s starting to get a little bit freaked out.

I told him that if he stood me up at the altar I would shoot him.. with his own shot gun.. three times.

Just giving him fair warning.

Future:
April 21-22 Moving day
May 4-6 Beltane (and picture day)
May 25-27 Cynaguan Coronet
June 2 Golden Rivers Rapier Championship and Collegium
June 15-17 A&S Tournament
June 22-24 June Crown
July 14 Cynaguan Summer Investiture
July 27-August 12 Pennsic

August 31, 2013 My wedding in Billings Montana

1.
