1. Work/Programming
I was right. I finished all of my code work (including the two additional features that crept into scope) by Thursday. So my work on my pet project is code complete.. I’m waiting for another guy to submit his code so we can do code reviews. Then we’ll be off to the land of QA. Wheee.
On the working at home front.. Now that I know how to forward my phone.. I finally figured out how to forward it so that it rings both Google Talk (which is up on my PC) and my cell phone. This is nice because it means that if I answer the call on my PC I can use my mic and head set. This make typing while talking MUCH easier.
2. Home
Fearghus and Bob are again off at the storage unit trying to move everything from the old unit to the new unit. I hope we’ll be able to finish that by this weekend. I’d really like to be able to stop paying for two units.
3. Health
I did it. I finally started the CrazyStupidDiet. I have lost a total of 10 lbs.. but unfortunately today I stalled out. No gain, no loss. It feels a bit early to be stalled.. but I’ll keep at it.
The meals have been devoid of carbs and fat.. but other than that it’s very similar (if a bit smaller) to what I’ve done for the last year or so. I’m happy to say that I’ve found some recipes worth eating even when off the diet.
This weekend I’m going to go to a sewing weekend away from home. I will be packing a cooler with food and Sunday’s injection. Cross your fingers for me.
A hidden side-benefit of this HCG thing is that I can’t go out to eat. I mean technically I could.. but I’d probably end up eating off-diet.. so the best idea is to not do it. I expect to save A LOT of money from this. I think food spending is our biggest expense after rent.
4. SCA/Projects
I finally finished updating my pattern and posted a blog entry for my 15th Century Tailed Cap (aka: Flemish Kerchief). I like the way it turned out and can’t wait to wear it at an event.
I have also started sewing my red cotehardie together. I think it will be a nice hand project for next week’s commute. I hope to be able to wear it at the A&S Tournament.. but I think it’s more likely to be done for June Crown.
Right now, until Sunday, Fabric-store.com is having their IL20 super light weight linen on sale. That, combined with the discount code “ilovelinen” means that I have linen in the mail to make Fearghus some short-sleeved tunics for Pennsic.
I’m totally out of days off for the year. Well rather, all of my days off are allocated. So I don’t have enough time to take the Friday before June Crown off. The current plan is that Fearghus will go down early on Friday and set everything up and then I’ll catch a ride down with a friend after work. I’m really please that I found someone going down later. This totally saved my butt.
5.
On Wednesday Amazon finally charged me $70 for Buckland Anglo-Saxon Cemetery, Dover. Excavations. I’m hyper excited to get it. What? You thought all this 15th century stuff had thrown me off of my obsession with 6th century Kentish stuff? Pshaw!
Focusing one one thing only is boring.
