1. Work/Programming
I’m humming along on my pet project. I expect I’ll be code complete by the middle of next week and then have formal QA slated for the week after. TPTB say that after this minor release is done they may have me go ahead and work on some of the major features I proposed last week. All good no matter what.
I’m now working from home two days a week and, added bonus, I’ve figured out how to forward my work phone to my cell-phone so I can continue to get work calls even on days I work at home.
2. Home
Minor progress this week on sorting stuff out. I finally found a couple of cords to my computer that I’ve been looking for and was finally able to plug everything in.
Fearghus and Bob just got back from moving some stuff from the old storage unit to the new storage unit. They say it’s about 1/4 done. So there are a few more trips like this in the future. Added bonus, they pulled some of my crafty stuff out and will be moving it into the garage so I can continue working on projects for Pennsic.
Hrm.. somewhere in the next month or so I need to get some pictures taken so that Fearghus and I can print up “Save the Date” cards to send out for our wedding next year. I told all of my family that they’d know at least a year in advance when I was getting married.. and that deadline is approaching quickly.
3. Health
HCG has continued to be a non-starter. Current plan is to start injections/loading tomorrow. Hopefully that will be a go.
Regardless I’ve been doing well at maintaining 🙂
At Coronet last weekend I tripped while leaving the List Field and my back popped a lot as I hit the ground. Luckily nothing seemed badly bent.. but the next morning I woke up with a horrible stiff back. It’s taken me most of the week but I think I’ve finally gotten my back loosened up. This morning it popped and I thought for sure the neighbors were going to come and see what made all that noise.
4. SCA/Projects
Tomorrow is the Golden River’s Rapier Championship and Collegium. I’ll be teaching my Beginners Fingerlooping class and Fearghus will be leading a discussion about the Fighter’s mind. The event is in Sacramento and weather.com says it should be in the low 90s.. so it should be a good test of whether the short-sleeved waisted kirtle will work for hot weather. It won’t be humid like Pennsic.. but I guess as far as tests go, it’ll do.
I’ll be at Pennsic from Thursday 8/2 to Sunday 8/12. I have pre-registered, bought a plane ticket, and even signed up to teach a class. I’ll be teaching my “13th Century Women’s Birgitta Cap” class on Monday 8/6 from 1pm to 4pm. I still need to make up kits for that.
**As is tradition in the West, Sylvie la chardonnière is relatively persona-less. I’m French.. and lived at some time in the 13th-15th centuries.

I’m am very proud of my Lord Fearghus. He carried my honor well at Coronet last weekend and fought well. He was in finals with Sir Mari Alexander and Sir Mari won the day. Sir Mari will be Cynagua’s first Princess by her own hand. I am also very pleased to have been asked to be on Their Exellency Mari and Brocc’s court for the upcoming reign.
