Them: so.. *head tilt* how are you doing?
LOL. Anyway. I’ll save y’all from having to ask.
I’m 3 weeks + 2 days out from Bariatric Sleeve surgery.
So far I’ve lost almost 19 lbs. So slightly less than 1 lb a day.. but still respectable.
Four of my five incisions have healed cleanly. The last one looked like a quarter sized scab until last night when the scab parted and blood/puss came out. Aside from being a bit tender/itchy it didn’t seem dire so I waited until this morning to check up on it. I visited with a nurse practitioner at my doctor’s office this morning. They confirm the incision is infected and advised I should keep it clean and dry and take the prescribed antibiotics. I have a follow-up with my doctor about this next week. I totally think this is going to ruin my bikini shots. I suppose I’ll get over it.
No NSAIDs is still a PITA but I’m only going to tolerate that for another ~3 weeks. My hip hurts. My back hurts. My surgery does not hurt, not even the infected incision.
I bought a new bottle of acetaminophen (to replace the ones that are 4 years expired!?!). While I was taking the child for his allergy shots Luna, the new dog, snagged the new bottle and opened it in the back yard. Bad dog. I’ll have to buy more acetaminophen again.
Eating is a thing. I made a batch of spaghetti sauce with venison and have been gnoshing on that. It’s not totally pureed.. but it seems fine enough my body has not objected. My tummy gets full and starts to complain before my eyes/mouth are done eating. I can see how overeating can be an issue. I’m watching out for it.
My favorite bra cup is suddenly too big. My shirts are starting to slop off my shoulders. I think.. the weight loss may actually be starting to show. I am NOT looking forward to buying new bras. I may be free-boobing it for the next 6 months until I stabilize. Y’all have been warned.
