My So Called Life, Progress

2010 Recap and January Goals

2010 was the year I finally broke the camel’s back. I think I finally have this figured out. It turned out to be a good year for weight loss. Even though I lost steam at the end of the year I do end the year down 31.2 lbs since I started tracking this in August. Since I -know- I was heavier before that (I just wasn’t tracking it) I’m going to take some glow of joy in this. In August I started clean eating.. and in November I added exercise to it. I’m enjoying both and plan to continue. If we can afford it I’ll be getting a treadmill soon.. it really depends on finances.

I’ve had a few weird moment in the last few days.

While wandering though the house I smoothed my hands over my shirt to straighten it. I realized that my hands were cupping my top roll of fat (and yes, I’m a little ashamed to write that I have two rolls of fat on my belly/abdomen). I realized that it feels a lot smaller than the last time I noticed it. This makes me happy.

Later on I was standing in the kitchen cooking dinner and I put my hands on my hips and felt something. It was hard and higher up than my -actual- hips. At first I thought it was my abs and I spent a few minutes wiggling around until I figured out it wasn’t muscles. Eventually I realized it was the top of my pelvic bone. Um.. ok.. wow. Hiya pelvic bone.. glad to see you again.

December Achievements:
Goal: Lose 10 lbs.
Outcome: I started the month at 284.6 and end the month at 286.8. That’s a gain of 2.2 lbs. I’m going to blame the holidays. It’s easy to resist sweets when you aren’t surrounded by them. I need to get all this extra sweet eating back in check and get back to clean eating. At the moment, I’m currently down 31.2 lbs since I started in August.

Goal: Cook at least 1 new recipe a week.
Outcome: I think I made it. I think I had one dish a week. That said, they weren’t all keepers. I need to figure out how to cook venison roast.

Goal: Continue with Ab-Divas 50/50 and do it daily.
Outcome: I started it and did it for almost the whole month. I forgot to do it on the 28th and restarted 1/100 on January 1. I’m at 3/100 today.

Goal: Do Kinect workout every work-day morning.
Outcome: I think I missed one morning when I was late getting up. The workouts are fun and I kind of like having the soreness.

Goal: Move my wakeup time back 30 minutes.
Outcome: I was able to move it back 15 minutes. I’ll try to get the other 15 mintues this month.

SMART goals are specific, measurable, actionable, realistic and time-sensative.

2010 Goals:
Lose 30 lbs by May. Starting weight: 286.8

January Goals:
Lose 10 lbs. I still feel this is a reasonable goal. I know I’ve been falling short.. but I still want to keep this as a goal.
Cook at least 1 new recipe a week. Again, good thing to strive for. This forces me to stretch and try other recipes.
Continue with Ab-Divas */100 and do it daily. . JUST DO EEET!!
Do Kinect workout every work-day morning. Keep with the plan of toning alternated with cardio.
Take the stairs at work at least once a day. I also did this for all of December. I’d love to get to the point where I’m not panting when I get to my office.
Move my wakeup time back 15 minutes. I added the workout in the morning without adjusting my wakeup time. This has been causing me to get out of the house by 8. I’d rather be out of the house by 7:30. To do that I need to move my wakeup back another 15 minutes.
Clean the kitchen floor. The floor is gross and I need to take a scrubby to it in addition to mopping it. I’ve been avoiding this for a while and I just need to do it.
