Them: so.. *head tilt* how are you doing?
LOL. Anyway. I’ll save y’all from having to ask.
I’m 5 weeks + 1 day out from Bariatric Sleeve surgery.
The stall ended and I’m back on a downward trend.
“How much have you lost?” It really depends on when you start counting… From the day after surgery 2/21/2024 (‘A’ on the graph) (what I’ve been reporting) I’ve lost 24 lbs. From when I re-started the bariatric program 8/30/2023 (‘B’ on the graph) I’ve lost 49 lbs. From my highest weight ever (when I was pregnant with Erik) (‘T’ on the graph) 11/19/2013 I’ve lost 88 lbs. I’m currently about 10 lbs above my lowest adult weight ever 3/18/2018. The graph is nearly daily weight recordings from 8/2010 to now.
This week I pulled some of the “too small” clothes out of my closet and started wearing them. Fearghus remarked that changing into clothes that fit really emphasized the fact that I’m shrinking.
Last week I had a follow-up visit with my PCP about my incision. The incision is looking great and is healing well. She suggested adding MSM Joint Health to my pills to see if that will help with the hip pain. I have received the pills and taken them for ~2 days and I think it’s having some impact. Like taking the hip pain from a 6 to a 5. It’s not a lot but I’ll take what I can get.
I’m not eating things like steak or pork chops.. but I am eating nearly normal food.. just not a lot of it. An egg on toast is a happy-making breakfast. Last night I had lasagna (with the role of noodles filled by chicken lunch meat). I’m still noticing that my eyes and mouth are still hungry when my belly informs me we’re done. It’s still a learning process.
